With sPrint One, you can plan dynamically – rigid block-based planning is now gone. Within seconds, sPrint One creates a complete print plan based on the current production requirements. And as soon as the initial production conditions change (press failure, incoming urgent orders, etc.), sPrint One fully adapts the unprocessed print schedule in line with the new conditions – in seconds, at the push of a button. This means, for example, that urgent new orders can easily be included in the next planning run according to their priority.
Benefit from the sophisticated algorithms behind sPrint One that minimize your production costs. sPrint One mathematically weighs all the costs involved in production – in particular setup and paper costs – against each other and calculates a print schedule that minimizes the total costs of print production. No preselection necessary. sPrint One decides on its own based on your costs and available capacities, if ganging makes sense and which press fits best to each form. Also, with sPrint One bottlenecks can be identified long before they arise.
Successful printers are automated. The higher the automation, the lower the costs for manual interventions and failure correction. Especially small and mid-sized printers can’t develop standard flows for standard products since the number of equal orders is too small. But sPrint One is a solution that looks for all possible combinations to achieve the best possible production for every situation.

Order pools can hold almost any number of jobs: Be it 10, 100, 1.000 or even more than 10.000: sPrint One computes the print plan and gang forms in a very short time. Parameters such as deadlines, paper, color, and more are complied automatically; absolutely no preprocessing such as sorting is necessary.
sPrint One computes the optimum production plan for the available job pool on the basis of the real cost factors such as exposition cost, print process cost, press setup cost, paper cost. Therefore sPrint One can provide efficiency data such as papern efficiency, demand efficiency, or area efficiency.
For very large production pools compute time can be shortened by limiting the automated plan generation to a meaningful timeframe (e.g. the next 8 hours). To do so, sPrint One searches through the whole order pool for the more urgent jobs, and then starts to compute the print plan. The software will stop when the defined planning horizon (here 8 hrs) is reached.
The due date threshold is designed especially for smaller pools. You use it to define a time interval (e.g. 3 hours) so that only orders that must be finished by the end of this interval are taken into account when calculating the planning. All other orders are only taken into account if they still fit well on one of the already existing forms.
Especially offset presses can be used in many different ways. They do not only work and back, but also perfecting, work and turn and work and tumble. sPrint One knows your press and can therefore select the most suitable workstyle. Of course, you can manually limit unwanted workstyles at any time.
For each sheet and machine, you can specify exactly where the printable area begins. Depending on the workstyle, you can freely vary these margins such that you always make the most of the available area. Color bars, gripping edges, sheet brakes – all of these and more are easily controlled.
With this specification, the sheet layout is constructed in such a way that common edge trims are used. The distances between the ups are increased evenly to further simplify the cutting process.
sPrint One generates the sheet layouts according to your cutting specifications. You decide whether, for example, you prefer to cut in production direction or against production direction, whether the layout should be pushed to the outer edge, or whether the overall cutting effort should be kept as low as possible.
Groups are one of the most powerful features of sPrint One. They are used to control which print jobs may generally be processed together on a gang form or must be processed separately. This way, e.g.different post-processing lines can be served or you can set restrictions such as “Standard coating may also be applied to a UV coating form, but not vice versa” and much more.
In general, jobs on the sheet must not overlap with areas that have been defined as “non-printable”. However, sometimes jobs may only overlap with such areas e.g. with their bleed. This behavior can be precisely controlled using overlapping boxes.
This features can be used to define areas on the sheet that may be filled only with a certain type of products. These areas can either be defined absolute or by a minimum and maximum size only. sPrint One then determines the optimal size and position of the area on the sheet based on the content. In particular, it is possible to define margins for these predefined areas.
Using a sheet editor, the sheet layout can be predefined regarding ups. This also includes precise restrictions that determine which job type can be placed into which up. sPrint One continues to dynamically fill all areas of the sheet that have not been predefined.
sPrint One offers various JDF output formats for the sheet layouts, which are compatible with all common workflow systems such as Kodak Prinergy (from version 5) or Agfa Apogee (from version 9). The embedded file paths for the content allow RIPs to be created and exposed from these JDFs without manual intervention.
You can specify the opacity of each color channel of your products in combination with a maximally allowed difference in opacity. sPrint One will then only create layouts that the difference in opacity for all channels of products that are located on top of each other on the sheet (in production direction) does not exceed the maximally allowed opacity difference.
Areas for the sheet brakes can be defined to be either optional or mandatory. If optional, sPrint One decides on its own on a case-by-case basis whether the use of the sheet brake makes sense by comparing the time gained against the additional waste.
The smartcut feature allows a number, such as a percentage, to be assigned to each job. sPrint One will then insert a web between two directly adjacent products, whose sum in smartcut exceeds 100%. This ensures sheet stability for inline perforating or die cutting.
Using several workspaces, it is possible to calculate different planning scenarios. If you are planning to purchase a new printing press, for example, you can directly determine the impact on your costs and productivity by recalculating all jobs from the last six months with changed machinery.
In sPrint One, you can specify that only partial orders of the same order or customer ID are collected, or that they are printed one after another. In addition, sPrint One will design the production plan so that as few order IDs as possible are in production at the same time to make logistics easier.
For each job, the orientation can be defined individually with regard to the grain direction of the paper or with regard to the gripper edge on the sheet. If you do not specify any restrictions, sPrint One will dynamically select the orientation so that the area utilization is maximized.
If stock orders are defined, sPrint One will use them to fill up free areas on sheets only. This will further increase overall efficiency.
Categories can be assigned to each machine. The same categories can also be assigned to products, to restrict the number of presses, which are allowed to print a product. For example, you can define your own production line for certain standard products.
All papers in the paper stock are assigned with very specific and more general categories, e.g. ‘Offset-white_200g’. One or more paper categories can be assigned to every order. If more than one paper comes into question for a product, sPrint One will choose the best fitting paper. In particular, sPrint One also selects the size of the paper depending on the order situation.
Thumbnails of the print content can be transferred to sPrint One. This allows a sheet preview with the actual content to be displayed in the sPrint One Cockpit, or the download of a preview PDF for the whole sheet.
If something goes wrong during production, for example if misprints occur or a machine breaks down, you only have to specify how many good sheets have been printed. sPrint One automatically adjusts the required remaining runs in the database. This enables replanning with the remaining quantities to be carried out quickly and easily.
sPrint One uses the latest WebSocket technology. This enables sPrint One to immediately notify your IT systems of important events.
